On 19 December 2020 the KSW 57 event saw the clash of two knockout specialists – Cezary Kęsik (12-0, 9 KO, 2 Sub) and Abus Magomedov (23-4-1, 13 KO, 5 Sub).

Cezary Kęsik (nicknamed “the Powerhouse of Lublin”) had been unbeaten in his professional career before that fight. In the rings of KSW, the European leader in MMA, “the Powerhouse of Lublin” had a record of beating Alexandar Ilic to submission and knocking Jakub Kamieniarz out. Hailing from Puławy, his last fights before the KSW 57 event had been at TFL shows, which saw him defend his 2019 middleweight championship twice. The 30-year-old claimed an impressive 11 out his 12 victories before time, including nine by knockout. Abus Magomedov is one of the most anticipated newcomers to KSW in recent months. While this was the first KSW bout of the UFD Gym’s fighter, he had a record of almost 30 victories, the large majority of them claimed without a points decision. The 30-year-old fighter fought, among others, at one of the tournaments of the highly regarded Professional Fighters League (PFL), where he made it all the way to the final round. During the 19 December KSW 57 event in Łódź, the Dagestan-born German national beat Cezary Kęsik. “The Powerhouse of Lublin” admitted defeat by submission in the second round, losing for the first time in his career.
